Eduroam for Linux
The following instructions were created using the Linux Ubuntu distribution. It should be possible to work out the correct settings for other Linux distributions using the settings below:
Click the Network icon in the top right corner, select Wi-Fi and then click Select Network.
In the Wi-Fi Network list select eduroam.
Configure network security with the following settings:
- Wireless Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Anonymous Identity: <leave blank>
- CA Certificate: <see notes below>
- PEAP version: Automatic
- Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Username: <your full university username e.g. u1234567@warwick.ac.uk>
- Password: <your university password>
Under the CA Certificate field, navigate to the location of your certificate store.
In Linux Ubuntu and Linux Mint this is located in /etc/ssl/certs and may be different for other flavours of Linux.
Select the “Comodo_AAA_Services_root.pem” certificate.
Verify the settings and then click Connect.
The connection will now be negotiated, followed by a Connected message.
