Use the same right-hand content in multiple pages

In page properties, you can specify that a page should use the right-hand content from another page. Rather than copy and paste the same information in the right-hand side of multiple pages, create the source page and then retrieve the right-hand content from it. When you edit the source, the retrieving pages update automatically. For example, we show the support email and search box in the right-hand content of all SiteBuilder help pages.

Create right-hand content in the source page

  1. Create a new page in an appropriate location on your site.
  2. Go to Edit > Edit page properties.
  3. In the Change page properties section, unselect Show in local navigation and Allow search engines.
  4. Select Save changes.
  5. Add your content to the right-hand side.
  6. Select Publish.

Set pages to retrieve the right-hand content from the source page

For each page that should retrieve the same right-hand content:

  1. Browse to the retrieving page.
  2. Go to Edit > Edit page properties.
  3. Expand the Advanced properties section.
  4. In the Special right-hand side drop-down list, choose Use RHS of another page.
  5. In the Web address box, enter the URL of the source page. Alternatively, use the page picker to browse to the source page:

For example, the source right content for SiteBuilder help pages is at:

    /services/its/servicessupport/web/sitebuilder2/faqs/static-rhs
  6. To ensure that any relative links in the source right-hand content continue to work in the retrieving page, select Rewrite links to point to linked location. You can override this by unselecting the checkbox. If you're not sure what the difference is, we recommend you leave this option selected.
  7. Select Save. You should now see the source right-hand content in the retrieving page.
