This article describes how to edit a slideshow in an ID7 page layout. For instructions about slideshows in basic pages, see our articles on the slideshow page template for the old visual editor, or the carousel component in the Components Editor.

In this article:

Change an existing slide

  1. Go to the page containing the slideshow.
  2. Select Edit slideshow. The button is only available when you have contributor permission or above. If the button is not visible, contact the page owner for permission to edit the page.

  3. Select Edit at the bottom right of the block containing the slide you wish to change:

  4. The values in the Title box (e.g. slide-01 or slide-02) define the order in which the slides appear – alphabetically, then numerically. For example, physics-slide-02 appears before slide-01. The Title does not appear in the published slideshow. Change the Title as necessary or, if you're happy with the current order, skip this step.
  5. Leave the Link box empty.
  6. In the Content box, edit the slide caption text.
  7. To replace the image, select the existing image in the Content box, then select the Image button in the visual editor.
  8. In the Image window, choose an image or upload a new image from your computer:

Image dimensions: for a slide that spans the full width of your page, make your image 1,170 pixels wide x 375 pixels high. For a small slideshow, the images should be 745 pixels wide x 325 pixels high.
  9. In the Image window's Description box, describe what your image is. The text is used in the image's alt text.
  10. Select the Select button.
  11. When you have finished editing your content, select Save changes.
  12. You're prompted to confirm the changes. SiteBuilder does not save history for content blocks and overwriting previous content cannot be undone. In the Overwrite permanently window, select Save.
  13. Return to the parent page to see the updated slide.
