Tabula release notes

Tabula 2019.11.1 released

We released Tabula 2019.11.1 on Thursday 7th November 2019. In this version:

  • We added mitigating circumstances information to exam grids. Tabula now displays the grading – A (mild), B (moderate), C (severe) or R (rejected) – of the mitigation, and the date it was decided. If the mitigation was acute, a zero is appended to the grading to denote that it has already been dealt with. When you view a student's assessment breakdown, some details of the mitigating circumstances are shown at the bottom. This includes recommendations and comments for the exam board.
  • When you record a missed meeting, the inaccurate message 'Submitting this record will mark a monitoring point as attended' is no longer displayed.
  • When you record attendance for a monitoring point by uploading a CSV file, a confirmation screen now details the changes this will make. You can then confirm or cancel the changes.

Please note: we released changes to assignment opening and closing dates separately, between this version and version 2019.10.5.

Tabula 2019.10.5 released

We released Tabula 2019.10.5 on Thursday 31st October 2019. In this version:

  • The Modules page within each student's profile now displays the total number of CATS for that student.
  • When adding or editing departmental marking descriptors, you can now format them using Markdown syntax.

Tabula 2019.10.4 released

We released Tabula 2019.10.4 on Thursday 24 October 2019. In this version:

  • All 'Email these students' buttons now produce a pop-up containing the email addresses of the students. You can then choose to:
    • 'Copy to clipboard', for pasting the addresses into an email yourself. This will be useful for those accessing their email accounts via a web browser.
    • 'Open email app', to start a new message in your default email client, populated with the addresses. Long lists of addresses can be truncated by your email client when using this option; the 'Copy to clipboard' option provides a way around this. If you don't use Outlook, you can choose the appropriate address separator for your email client here: https://tabula.warwick.ac.uk/settings.
  • When you upload marker allocations via spreadsheet and there's a problem, we've made the error message you see more specific. The message now states where the problem lies by providing the sheet name and row number.
  • We made it easier for people using only a keyboard to navigate pop-ups that show monitoring point attendance.

Tabula 2019.10.3 released

We released Tabula 2019.10.3 on Wednesday 16 October 2019. In this version:

  • Excel downloads of exam grids now include comments to explain the reasons for any missing data. These comments mirror the tooltips that appear in Tabula when you hover your mouse over an 'X' on an exam grid.
  • Penalties of 5 marks per working day for late submissions by postgraduates are now suggested. This is the same as for undergraduates, and reflects the latest Education Policy and Quality late submission policy. Suggested penalties are shown when you adjust marks and choose 'Late submission penalty' as the reason. For postgraduates who registered before 1 August 2019, the suggested penalty is still 3 marks per working day.
  • We've improved the results displayed when you enter room names in the location box for small group events.
  • When you upload monitoring point attendance by CSV file, we have restored the messages that inform you of any errors in your file. Note that you can only use this method for authorised absences if an attendance note is already in place.

Tabula 2019.10.2 released

We released Tabula 2019.10.2 on Thursday 10 October 2019. This version features:

  • An improvement: students' full profiles now include the student's route status, as stored on SPR in SITS. This can help, for example, to diagnose the problem when this information is out-of-date in Tabula, or incorrect in SITS.
  • A bug fix affecting the submission of mitigating circumstances declarations. Selecting the 'Cancel' button in the confirmation box now returns you to the form and leaves the content you added in place.
