IT Services computer work areas are available across Gibbet Hill, Westwood and main campus. All students and staff can use work areas (you'll need your University card to access most of them). Staff can book some work areas for teaching.
All work area computers are connected to the internet, University network, work area printers and Library catalogue. They run Windows 10 and have Microsoft Office installed (except A0.01 in Mathematics and Statistics, which runs CentOS Linux).
Save your files to your H drive or memory stick when using a work area computer.
Most work areas are open during building opening times. Some are open 24 hours a day, including:
- Rooms R0.39 and R0.41 in the Library
- Room S2.74 in Social Sciences
- Room A0.01, A0.02 and A0.03 in Mathematics and Statistics
Our computer work areas generally have a classroom style layout. To maintain appropriate social distancing for the safety of everyone, work areas have been either closed or opened with limited seating.
