Bids are open to host a Graduate Management Trainee

Can your department provide the experience for a Graduate Management Trainee to work on projects and enable our trainees to put their project management skills into practice? In return, you will get the opportunity to have a skilled and fully funded Graduate Management Trainee work in your department for 3 days per week from 1^st February 2023 to 30^th September 2023 (an 8-month period). For the other two days, the Graduate Management Trainees will be undertaking a project management qualification and Emerging Leadership Development programme.

Overall, our three-year programme is designed to give our Graduate Management Trainees everything they need to start their leadership career at Warwick. Each trainee is undertaking four placements, giving them a holistic experience of working in the Higher Education setting and more specifically Warwick. It also includes one external placement to help develop their commercial and SME/charity experience as well as giving back to our local community.

What would they be expected to do on the placement? Think of the Graduate Management Trainees as Project Officers. They require the chance to get involved in project work, for example: managing budgets, stakeholder management, governance/risk assessments, running marketing campaigns, supporting meetings, planning and running events, creating and managing webpages, monitoring social media activity, and/or researching what other organisations are doing (horizon scanning). The project(s) do need to involve a two-way knowledge sharing opportunity with an external organisation, this is an essential element due to the funding of this scheme.
