University of Warwick Graduate Scheme

Higher Education Sector

current graduate management trainees

This is a challenging and exciting time for Higher Education. Covid-19 has had a significant impact on the sector: changes in teaching and learning, research and the student experience has had a lasting impact on the operation of the University. At the same time, Higher Education Institutions are increasingly stepping forward to help address complex societal challenges; and traditional academia is engaging more openly and collaboratively with industry and wider society, regionally, nationally and globally.

University staff play a critical role in shaping, supporting and delivering this future. In addition to supporting and facilitating the external connections of our research and teaching provision, we’re working in partnership with government, industry and a host of other external agencies, analysing problems, making connections, facilitating conversations and explorations, and collaborating and co-creating innovative solutions to address the wicked problems of today and tomorrow.

Would you like to kickstart your leadership career in Higher Education and play a key role in addressing these challenges? We are looking for our new cohort of Graduate Management Trainees to become our future leaders and join our award winning 2-year fast track leadership development scheme. Applications are now closed. For those who have applied recently, we'll be in contact shortly. We hope to recruit another cohort to start in October 2026.

The Programme Structure

We even won Team of the Year 2024 in the WAPCS Awards, the scheme was recognised for going beyond the Warwick bubble and enabling meaningful change. One of your work placements will be with a local small company or charity where you’ll be able to share the knowledge you’ve learnt, providing them with practical and valuable support.

The programme commences at the beginning of October 2024 and consists of three, eight-month placements which are structured to give you exposure to a range of areas of the University.
