Communicate your Research: Presenting and Publishing Conference Papers

Overview:

What are the options for communicating your research in a digital environment? How is publishing evolving and how do you choose the most appropriate platform for your target audience? This series of workshops will explore some of the options available to help you make informed choices when planning your publication strategy.

This interactive session will encourage you to think about your motivations for presenting at conferences, who your target audience is and what you want to communicate. As well as exploring different types of conference presentation and considering how your discipline, audience and message might influence your choice of format, it will also introduce some useful tools to help you find conferences that are relevant to your subject and funding to get there! There will also be the opportunity to consider how you might turn your conference paper into a published output and how to avoid ‘duplicate publication’.
