Communicate your Research: Understanding Open Access
Overview:
What are the options for communicating your research in a digital environment? How is publishing evolving and how do you choose the most appropriate platform for your target audience? This series of workshops will explore some of the options available to help you make informed choices when planning your publication strategy.
This session will consider how Open Access is changing the face of academic publishing and how research is disseminated and shared. It will provide an overview of the current Open Access landscape and the opportunities and challenges that it presents for researchers in all disciplines, looking not only at the requirements for Open Access publishing, but also at the potential benefits of sharing your work openly. The session will also consider the ‘darker’ side of OA and how to avoid falling victim to so-called ‘predatory publishers’.
University of Warwick Research Active Staff (staff on Research-focussed, Teaching-focussed and Research & Teaching Contracts) and PhD Students.
