It is a life-long skill that can be instilled at a young age or developed for the first time in adulthood, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, boosting confidence and developing independence.

Cycle Safety Course Level 2

Participants achieving Level 2 will be able to carry out their own rides confidently on roads following the course.

Trainees will learn how to cycle planned routes on minor roads, offering a real cycling experience, including how to signal, stop and ride safely on roads.

Suitable for:

  • Women (staff and students only).
  • Cyclists with some experience and those looking to further develop their training.
  • Good follow on from Level 1.

When is it?

  • 5 July 2018, 12:00 - 14:00
  • Meet at Lakeside Tennis Courts

Cycle Safety Course Level 2

Level 2 is covered on quiet roads but in real traffic conditions.

Participants achieving Level 2 will be able to carry out their own rides confidently on roads following the course.

Trainees will learn how to cycle planned routes on minor roads, offering a real cycling experience, including how to signal, stop and ride safely on roads.

Suitable for

  • Cyclists with some experience and those looking to further develop their training.
  • Good follow on from Level 1.

  • 24 July 2018, 12:00 – 14:00
  • Meet at Lakeside Tennis Courts

Cycle Safety Course Level 1

Level 1 is taught in a traffic-free environment.

Participants will learn the basics of how to control their bike and make off-road trips, for example on cycle paths.

This course is designed for beginner cyclists.

The learnings from this course will stay with you for life and will help you to ride in ways that make you more visible to traffic and enable you to negotiate complex junctions and roundabouts.

  • Women (staff and students only)
  • Beginner cyclists
