WUSAC Warriors on the War Path
Three teams descended on Plymouth over the weekend as part of Warwicks biggest ever presence at the Underwater Hockey Student Nationals. All three teams fought hard, proving the hard training over the last 12 months had been worth it. Warwick A worked their way through the first stage of games and the play-offs, eventually they arrived at the final against their arch nemesis; Plymouth. A fantastic game ensued, with each and every player giving 110%. The final score was not in their favour, but the team can walk away with their heads held high and a silver medal hung round their neck for the second year running. This means Warwick continue their trend of not dropping in their ranking year on year since they first entered the competition; a fantastic result and one that leads to high hopes next year. Captain, and former club president, Cameron Blackwell, said "This is a great result from the team and I am very proud of every single player from team Warwick who represented at the weekend. I just wish I could be here next year to fight for the trophy on home turf"
Warwick will be the hosts in 2015, and if their tournament in 2012 was anything to go by, it will be bigger and better than ever.
Anyone interested in trying out underwater hockey should get in contact with the club via the website or on facebook, they will be running open sessions throughout term 3.
