Success for Warwick at the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sports Awards

Last night at the CSW Sports Awards 10 year anniversary evening, Warwick picked up two awards to celebrate some fantastic success in sporting activity at the university!

Freddie Fairbairn coached the University of Warwick Volleyball team to qualify for the Premier League and runs beginners sessions for children, FE, HE and adults. He's also a committee officer and mentor for new coaches as well as Performance Head Coach for 3 National teams and Assistant Coach for all-star British Men's team. Freddie's contributions to coaching volleyball won him the Community Coach of the Year Award!

Gavin Kirby has made massive contributions to the sport programmes at warwick in badminton: engaged over 1260 people in the Warwick Active UV Sport sessions; he's coached beginners and improver badminton players and has launched a female badminton ladder, engaging over 25 women in Badminton on a weekly basis. Gavin won Young Sports Volunteer of the Year for his achievements.

Huge congratulations not only to Freddie and Gavin but everyone who was nominated and who represented Warwick at the awards!
