Get ready to swim under huge wooden beams from Austria

Five huge wooden beams have travelled hundreds of miles from Austria to form part of the roof for our new Sport and Wellness Hub.

The beams will sit above the completed swimming pool, and be an extension of the beautiful woodland you'll be able to see through the large windows.

Heavy wood needs a heavy crane

The responsibly sourced European Spruce wood beams measure 34 metres long each - that's about 1/3 of a football pitch long.

Each beam weighs in at 9.4 tonnes, the same as about three average cars. They required even heavier equipment to lift, with a mobile crane being used weighing 220 tonnes.
