Mental Health Awareness Training

This 3 hour session aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and build confidence in responding to mental health difficulties.

Led by: Experienced professionals from the University Wellbeing and Student Support Services 

Who is it for?

All staff at the University of Warwick. 

Session Objectives:

In this session you will learn about some of the factors which lead to the development of a range of mental health issues and also how to respond appropriately to individuals who are exhibiting signs of mental health distress.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  1. Greater awareness and understanding of mental health, your own and that of others
  2. Increased confidence in recognising mental health needs
  3. Increased confidence in knowing what to do when you think someone is struggling with their mental health
  4. Understood the importance of staying within the responsibilities and boundaries of your role when supporting others

The content has been designed by experienced mental health professionals working at the University of Warwick to provide a bespoke, professional training to all staff.  It is structured to be applicable to all staff, ie those who are predominantly student-facing or predominantly staff-facing or both. 

The session can accommodate up to 15 delegates.

The session is delivered in person, face-to-face.
