We're getting the band back together

Sign up for our 'Battle of the Cover Bands' competition, in association with BandSoc, has now closed and we can't wait to hear what our bands come up with.

The main event will take place on Monday 5th December in Copper Rooms 2, and you will be able to come along to watch the performances, simply turn up on the night for free entry.

The greatest song you never wrote

If you have already signed up and missed our briefing event on Weds 9th November, the competition rules are:

Your song must be a cover and must be no longer than 5 minutes.

All lyrics must be appropriate for a radio edit.

On the night you will have 5 minutes to change set up from the previous band, BandSoc and Tech Crew will be on hand to support you, but please bear this short time frame in mind when considering your performance.

What to Bring

No personal pedals are allowed, the following equipment will be provided for you:

Two guitar amplifiers, a bass amplifier, a full right-handed drum kit, a keyboard (with a sustain pedal, including different sounds e.g. synth/electric-keyboard/piano/organ), microphones for vocalists, microphones for instruments that can be played into a microphone such as brass or wind instruments.

All other instruments you will need to bring with you, if there is something you want to use but do not have, please get in touch and we will see what can do to help.

Free 2-Hour Rehearsal

You will be emailed in week 7 and 8 to book your rehearsal slot for week 8 or 9 (respectively), you can choose which week to use your free slot.
