What is Wild Warwick?
Wild Warwick is a new project for 2024/25, created to help students like you reconnect with nature and showcase the amazing biodiversity found right on our campus.
This is your chance to take a break from studying, explore Warwick’s green spaces, and get creative by using nature as your inspiration.
Warwick Presents are supporting colleagues across Sustainability and School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures on the Wild Warwick Project. Read on to find out more about the project and what’s coming up.
Why Wild Warwick?
Wild Warwick isn’t just about wildlife—it’s about bringing students together to celebrate the nature around us, to promote sustainability, and to get creative.
Whether you’re passionate about art, nature, or both, this project offers you a chance to make your mark while engaging with the campus environment.
About the Wild Warwick Team
This exciting project is a collaboration between the Energy and Sustainability Team and the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures (SCAPVC). Together, we’re working to raise awareness of the wildlife on campus and encourage everyone to appreciate and protect it.
Through this partnership, we’re creating an opportunity for students to engage with nature, learn more about the species that share our space, and contribute creatively to campus sustainability efforts.

What Wildlife Can You Spot on Campus?
Our campus is home to all kinds of animals, including hedgehogs, foxes, bats, and even badgers! You’ll also find a range of beautiful birds like sparrowhawks, woodpeckers, and goldfinches, not to mention a host of fungi, insects, and invertebrates. There’s so much life here, and you might not even realize it’s right under your nose!
Use the iNaturalist app to track and identify the species you come across on campus. Join the University of Warwick Wildlife Observations group to see what other students have spotted (over 1,100 species and counting!)
