Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, and PPE

Our International Foundation Programme in Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences and PPE is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to progress to a wide range of arts, humanities, and social science degrees at university. Whether your interests lie in creative expression, understanding societies and cultures, or exploring the ideas that shape politics and philosophy, this course provides a strong academic foundation to prepare you for success at undergraduate level and beyond.

You’ll develop the ability to think critically, analyse complex ideas, and communicate your arguments effectively, all key skills for higher education. Alongside your subject-specific modules, you’ll strengthen essential academic skills in research, writing, teamwork, and presentation, helping you transition smoothly into UK university study.

This course offers two specialist routes:

  • Arts and Humanities
  • Social Sciences

Whichever route you choose, you’ll benefit from small-group teaching, close academic support, and interactive learning that encourages discussion and collaboration. You’ll be assessed through a range of methods, including essays, reports, presentations, and examinations. By the end of the course, you’ll have built a strong foundation in academic skills and disciplinary knowledge, ready to take the next step in your studies.

Arts and Humanities

Develop your understanding of culture, history, literature, and the arts, and learn how to analyse sources, evaluate arguments, and communicate ideas effectively. This route is ideal if you’re aiming for degrees in areas such as English Literature, History, Film Studies, Liberal Arts, Theatre and Performance, History of Art, Classical Civilisation, or Language, Culture and Communications.

Social Sciences

Explore society, politics, law, and human behaviour through the study of key concepts, theories, and contemporary issues. This route prepares you for degrees in Politics, Sociology, International Studies, Education, Law, Philosophy, Global Sustainable Development, or interdisciplinary combinations such as Philosophy and Psychology, Politics and Law, or Sociology and Criminology.
