Hedgerow planting - 4th December
Hedgerows play an important part in combating climate change, they provide food and shelter for animals, and are important wildlife corridors. Yet, they are in decline in England.
We are lending a helping hand to CPRE Link opens in a new windowWarwickshire in their bid to plant 750 metres of new hedgerow and restore over 110 metres of existing hedgerow this winter.
Come and join us on Wednesday 4th December to help counter the effects of climate change, aid wildlife and learn a new skill by contributing to the creation of a new hedgerow under expert guidance.
Minibus transport is provided free of charge between the campus and the site of the activity, Grandborough Fields Farm.
Event description and training
The activity will involve the planting of 200 m of new whips adjacent to an existing fence located in pasture land. Participating volunteers will be introduced to the CPRE Warwickshire Hedgerow Hero Team, who will provide induction on the equipment being used for safe whip planting, show how to plant hedgerow whips and provide a health and safety briefing. Please read the Risk AssessmentLink opens in a new window before attending the event.
