RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch Presentation
The Big Garden Birdwatch (BGBW) is ran by the RSPB every year and is the worlds largest garden wildlife survey! Last year, over 9.1 million birds were recorded in the survey. In 2024, the count is taking place between the 26th-28th of January. At Warwick, we are hosting a presentation in conjunction with the local RSPB Coventry and Warwickshire Group, to prepare people to take part in the event.
What will the presentation include?
- Background to the RSPB and information about the Coventry and Warwickshire local group.
- How you can get involved in bird watching.
- The positives of birding e.g. for mental health.
- Information on the BGBW event, including what you need to do to take part.
- Examples of locations you could use for the BGBW - you don't need your own garden and you can do it on campus!
- Birds you may expect to see and how to ID them.
