Santa Swap Stations

New for 2023, the Finance Green Action Team and the Energy and Sustainability Team have set up a series of Santa Swap Stations across campus.

The purpose of these is to provide people with a sustainable and budget friendly way to get a new Christmas outfit. Fast fashion is hugely detrimental to the planet, so we want to encourage people to swap rather than buying new. This works like a book swap, please leave an item and then take an item.

This is ideal for Christmas parties and any other festive celebrations you may have. We welcome swaps of Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, elf costumes, sparkly tops and anything else Christmas related. Please feel free to drop off children's items too, such as Christmas fancy dress items.

If there is nothing that you would like in the box you have dropped your item in, please feel free to check out other drop off locations over campus where you can take an item from there, or come back at a later date when more people will have donated items.

We need donations to get this started, so please feel free to donate any Christmas outfit items that you have at home that you no longer wear or no longer fit.

Drop off locations:

Boxes are located in the following locations.

  • University House Foyer - near UH cafĂ©/book swap shelf.
  • Library - The Breathing Space, Floor 1.
  • Argent Court Reception.
  • Senate House Reception.

Rules:

  • This system relies on honesty - please only take an item if you have left an item in the box for someone else.
  • Please make sure items that you put in the box are clean.
