Wild Warwick
What is Wild Warwick?
Wild Warwick was a new project for 2024/2025: a collaboration between the Energy and Sustainability Team and the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures (SCAPVC). It aimed to promote wildlife and green spaces on campus. Our campus is home to a huge variety of wildlife and green spaces, yet many do not know that they exist, and we wanted to change this! There were two parts to Wild Warwick, both of which are now complete:
- A competition, which ran from Monday 14th October to Monday 2nd December 2024. We invited submissions of art, including photography, canvas, poetry, pottery and other forms of medium, which used the University's wildlife as inspiration. You can see all of the winning submissions below, including the 10 judges prizes.
- An exhibition, which took place in FAB Agora, from Monday 6th January noon to Friday 24th January 2025. This showcased the winning submissions, alongside information on species and habitats across campus. There were 'Wild events', such as a talk from the Warwickshire Mammal Group, which ran alongside the exhibition.
