We won the Big Hog-Friendly Litter Pick Challenge in 2025!

winner certificateEach year students, staff, members of the community, departments, Action Groups and voluntary groups make an additional effort to collect as much litter as possible on and off campus within the duration of the annual Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge. In 2025, the Challenge ran from 22nd September until 28th November. During this time, over 90 people contributed to the University’s bid, collecting 137 bags of rubbish.

This amazing collaboration resulted in us winning the universities category for the first time since we have been participating in this nationwide initiative.

We thank all the individuals who helped with our monthly Wednesday Warwick Wombles and who did their own litter picks off campus, the Finance Green Action Team, the Estates department and Nature Conservation Volunteers/Warwick Volunteers who contributed a whooping 59 bags with a single litter pick off campus.

The Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick is a great initiative to promote creating a safer environment for wildlife on campus grounds and in nearby communities, and we are proud that our students and staff have made such a valuable contribution.

Thank you all who participated and congratulations on this brilliant result!
