Help us manage energy use at peak times
Do you switch everything off when you go home for the night? Early evenings (4-7pm) is a peak time for energy use, and to generate it, the UK has to use the most inefficient and polluting power stations to generate electricity. We need your help to create a greener campus by keeping our energy usage down so that money can be better spent on services, teaching and research.
Indy Sira wins Green Gown Sustainability Champion Award
Warwick student Indy Sira has won the 2017 Green Gown Award for Leadership. The Award comes in recognition of her tireless and passionate work with her team to initiate and deliver various social projects where ‘sustainability’ has been the key focus.
Over 2,000 energy efficient lights installed last academic year
In the academic year 2016/17 we installed 2,122 energy-efficient LED lights around campus. These new LED lights are up to 80% more efficient than the ones they replaced, and have been installed in the Butterworth Hall, the IMC, the Physics labs and workshop and Arthur Vick 3.
Sustainability Summit 2017: See the presentations
We held this year's Sustainability Summit on Friday 13 October 2017. We had over 100 people come to hear from students and staff with a passion for environmental sustainability talking about their ideas and projects.
