Biodiversity Walk - fungi

Did you know that fungi are not plants, and as they don't photosynthesize but obtain the nutrition they need from other organisms, in this aspect they are actually more similar to animals? They have fascinating life histories and they play an invaluable role in our lives - and we often don't even know about it. In fact, they are so unique that they have their own kingdom, taxonomically speaking.

Are you intrigued? Then join us on this Biodiversity Walk on Wednesday 22nd October between 12-1 pm for a relaxing stroll in the fresh air on campus.

The activity will entail walking on or near a path, learning about fungi in general and identifying fungi species we come across.

Please wear suitable shoes as it may be muddy, and dress according to the weather. Open to all students and staff.

Meeting point is TBC.

There are limited spaces available so sign-up is essential.
