External Public Engagement Opportunities

Below, we've collated rolling call-outs from some of our partners. These are all great ways to do some public engagement in interesting spaces with ready-made audiences.

For all of these opportunities, WIE can support you in developing your talk/activity and can lend you materials, if needed.

Coventry Libraries

We're working with Coventry Libraries to feed in fun, research based engagements to their regular events programme. They're open to crafts, trails and table-top activities for children and talks or activites for adults. Your activity could be about any topic, it doesn't have to be reading/literature related (although that's also welcome!).

Warwickshire Pride

We're working with Warwickshire Pride to feed in research based engagements to their regular events programme. Each month, Warwickshire Pride run a book club at Leamington Library, and film club runs bi-monthly at Temperance Cafe, also in Leamington. The team are open to 'takeovers' of these sessions and welcome a wide range of academia and research topics. Your participation can relate to the queer themes of a particular book/film, the nature of the piece (e.g. literary genre, cinematography, sound, artist's body of work), or wider relevant themes (e.g. historical or cultural setting, political context, social or religious themes, scientific and biological links, etc).
