External Public Engagement Opportunities
Below, we've collated rolling call-outs from some of our partners. These are all great ways to do some public engagement in interesting spaces with ready-made audiences.
For all of these opportunities, WIE can support you in developing your talk/activity and can lend you materials, if needed.
Coventry Libraries
We're working with Coventry Libraries to feed in fun, research based engagements to their regular events programme. They're open to crafts, trails and table-top activities for children and talks or activites for adults. Your activity could be about any topic, it doesn't have to be reading/literature related (although that's also welcome!).

Café Scientifique
Café Scientifique is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Sessions usually involve a short talk from a speaker before opening up for wider debate with the audience, and our contacts in the community who run the Leamington event are looking for speakers for 2025. Meetings take place in St.Patricks Irish Club, Adelaide Road, Leamington and start at 7.30 on a Monday evening. Further details can be seen on their website.Link opens in a new window
If you’re interested please email WIELink opens in a new window with a short description of what you’d like to talk about - they are interested in any STEM related topic. We’ll pass these along to the organisers and put you in touch if they think it fits their programme.
