Shared By Resonate

As long as it meets a few requirements, we are happy to share your public engagement event with our public audience. Read on to find out how.

The event will be listed as 'Organised by [your department] and Shared by Resonate' - this may be through our website, newsletter, social media or other channels. As part of our monitoring and reporting, we'll ask you to fill out a short form after your event. This will ask you how many attendees you had and how many staff and students were involved in the event. This lets us understand the total of how many people are reached by events that are organised, supported or shared by Resonate (a figure which may be shared in documents such as our annual or external reports). We will also ask you how many pieces of Warwick research your event shared, and if your event aligned with any of the Research Spotlights or Global Sustainable Development Goals as part of this reporting.

What events will we share?

If you would like us to share your event on the Resonate What’s On page, please consider the criteria below before filling out our ‘Shared By Resonate’ form.

Is your primary audience the public?

The ‘public’ in ‘public engagement’ can be defined as individuals (children, young people or adults), groups or a particular community often without a ‘formal relationship’ with the University (such as employees or students).

Is your event free to attend?

Resonate is all about bringing research to the public in an accessible way. All of our events are free to attend and, as such, we prioritise the sharing of public engagement events that are also free.

We will still consider sharing your event if it is no more than £5 to attend, on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch with the Resonate team if this is the case.

Is your event taking place in Coventry, Warwickshire or the West Midlands?

Resonate focuses on engaging our local communities with research. As such, the majority of our mailing list recipients, and those who browse our website, are local to the area.

If your event is taking place elsewhere, we may still be able to reshare it via our social media channels, which have a broader range of followers. Please get in touch with the Resonate team if this is the case.
