A brand new Sport and Wellness Hub is opening on the University of Warwick campus, offering unique opportunities for event organisers to significantly reimagine and enhance their event and delegate experiences.

The world-class facility will feature outstanding, high specification spaces that can quickly and easily transform to accommodate multiple sporting activities at any one time, as well as major competitions and events.

Organisers will be able to think bigger than ever to enhance the delegate experience and organise more creative team-building activities. The Warwick Conferences team will be on hand to support with the organisation of unique event experiences that can incorporate the new facilities, and how they can be used alongside its existing catalogue of award-winning venues and creative spaces.

Among the new facilities are two multi-purpose sports halls, with an arena-style balcony and retractable bleacher seating for up to 1,012 people, including eight wheelchair bays. The venue will also include a 25m 12-lane swimming pool with flexible configuration, moveable floor and disability access, as well as a major new indoor climbing centre.

It was recently announced that the new Hub will be a venue for the 2019 European Corporate Games. Taking place between 1-4 August, over 100 companies and more than 7,000 athletes are expected to participate across the four-day event, with Warwick Conferences providing event support and accommodation.

Sarah Dietrich, Business Development Manager at Warwick Conferences, said:

“The new Sports and Wellness Hub is a fantastic facility by itself but, when combined with Warwick Conferences’ venues and our extensive event management support services, it becomes an extremely exciting prospect for businesses to take advantage of.

“We like to develop innovative and experiential learning and development environments and support our clients and their delegates. Having access to world-class sports facilities will help us create even more memorable and engaging events for all.”

The new facility will also incorporate bookable meeting and seminar rooms, and will continue Warwick Conferences’ commitment to providing value-added wellness services for delegates.

Sarah Dietrich adds:

“We’re very focused on our wellbeing provision for delegates as this helps to enhance the learning experience. We currently have break-out rooms, games consoles, free-to-use bicycles, on-site theatres, cafés and cinema, in addition to nature walks and running routes, meaning delegates can enjoy their free time after busy training sessions.

“The University’s new sports facility brings an additional benefit to anyone attending an event at Warwick through its scale and range of facilities, classes, courses and activities on offer.”

All surpluses generated through Warwick Conferences’ use of the Sport and Wellness Hub is reinvested back into the University of Warwick, a registered charity. It helps to fund core activities including providing a high quality teaching & learning environment for Warwick’s students and staff, funding cutting–edge global research and charitable outreach activities.

The new Sports and Wellness Hub is expected to open in April 2019. For more information, please visit www.warwickconferences.com.
