Festival of Play Returns to The University of Warwick: Game Learning and Play for Young Creators

The University of Warwick’s Esports Centre played host to the Festival of Play, a one-of-a-kind school trip for 9–14-year-olds to explore careers in gaming. The event, on 11th July, featured interactive workshops, inspiring talks, and innovative games, highlighting careers in the video games industry. The event is delivered in partnership with Electronic Arts, UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE), and Digital Schoolhouse.

The University of Warwick has announced the recipients of its honorary degrees for the summer 2024 graduation ceremonies. The July recipients include Major General Tim Hodgetts from our region who will receive an Honorary Doctor of Science for his pioneering work in emergency and disaster medicine, which has served communities at all levels. As the Surgeon General for the UK Armed Forces and Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, Tim has made significant contributions to his field.
