Set the Pace of Peace Making
The challenge of peace making today is urgent and complex. Traditional approaches to resolving international conflict no longer fit in a world shaped by digital communication, misinformation, climate crises, and pandemics.
Meeting this challenge requires a new model that puts human dignity at its centre, combining conflict mediation with medicine to rebuild healthcare systems, education to restore schools, and engineering to reconstruct infrastructure.
At Warwick, we bring these disciplines together. We will train cadres of international leaders who can view a conflict from all angles and respond to crises in ways that protect people and create resilient communities.
Our Chancellor and alumna Bience Gawanas came to Warwick as a refugee from Apartheid.
We have more than 40 academics bringing expertise from more than 15 disciplines.
We'll have a focus on rebuilding lives, restoring trust, and strengthening social cohesion.
Warwick has been recognised as a University of Sanctuary since 2017.
