Tree Carols

How to apply for Tree Carols:

This project is open to all Undergraduate and taught Postgraduate students at Warwick University.

Applicants should send three poems/lyric sheets (or other examples of writing) and a statement of 300 words about themselves and their poems and why they want to take part in the project to admin@coullquartet.com by October 25th.

Successful applicants will take part in a workshop on the 8th November where they will be paired up with their composer collaborator. Another workshop will take place in the last week of January and the final performance will be a late night concert on March 5th.

Time scale:

• Deadline for entries Friday 25th October 5pm

• Six applicants chosen and notified by Thursday 1st November

• Opening workshop Friday November 7th with Joe Cutler and Martin Riley. Writers and composers meet and are paired. Start collaborative process.

• Explorative workshop Friday Nov 22nd students meet, chat and try out ideas.

• Review meeting to assess progress Thursday 5th December with Martin?

• Deadline for completion of scores for first workshop Tues January 7th.

• Second workshop with Coull Quartet and singers last week of January with Joe and Martin

• Any final amendments by February 7th (final deadline for completion)

• Rehearsal March 4th

• CONCERT Late night March 5th, Helen Martin Studio.

• Debrief Wed 12th March
