"I am delighted that the University of Warwick’s Esports programme is continuing to help bring fresh skills, investment, and job opportunities to our local community. Through the generous support of Community Renewal Fund and working closely our regional partners, Warwick is proud to further our commitment to esports by welcoming young people from across our region to our campus so that they can learn about and acquire practical knowledge of this exciting sector, and meet industry experts and employers to explore the skills they can gain and develop. I send my best wishes to everyone who will be taking part and hope they enjoy all that our Esports Centre has to offer.”

    - Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor
Esports Futures will take young people across a two day experience where they will learn a wide array of soft and transferable skills, whilst enjoying the University's new Esports Centre. Following their session, each group of 24, 16 - 24 year olds will have access to a career focus group and then a grand showcase in April to celebrate the achievements of every participant.

The first day will see the participants create and compete in an esports tournament, learning all the relevant skills along the way, both from the broadcast side, like event planning and how to use streaming and recording software, and also from the competitive side, learning the values of teamwork, leadership and high stakes communication.

Then, they will return the next day and be taught media skills like graphic design and video editing, using footage recorded in day one to build a narrative and story, and learn how to share those stories across different platforms, like print journalism and social media.

An integral part of the experience will be the presence of industry experts in the room to talk through with the participants about the wide array of careers and jobs available, allowing them to learn these skills with the aid of the very best in the industry. Therefore, we are looking for industry experts to join us in this process by sharing their insight and expertise on the relevant days.

If you wish to register as an industry mentor and to support these young people on a life-changing journey, you can do so here:
