Location: H3.02, Humanities building, University of Warwick
Lunch and soft drinks will be provided. Please let Sheilagh Holmes know if you are attending.
Jenny Crane will be presenting a paper based on Chapter Three of her book, which, for context, is broadly about about child protection in England from 1960-2000. More specifically, it analyses the extent to which children, parents, and survivors began to influence public and political discussions of child protection over this period, in terms of expressing their 'experiences' and 'emotions' as a form of expertise, and thus challenging and reshaping expertise and evidence offered by medical, legal, and political authorities.
