conference: Healthy Inside: Arts, History, Policy and Practice in Prisoner Health
This free, invitation-only event marks the conclusion of a series of collaborations with partners in the arts and policy, as part of our Wellcome Trust funded project, Prisoners, Medical Care and Entitlement to Health in England and Ireland, 1850-2000.
Together academics, artists, practitioners, and policy-makers will discuss healthcare in prison, past and present, consider the potential of collaborative projects in re-imagining prison health and reform, and look at some of the ways history can inform today’s health practice and policy.
Guest artists talking about how our research materials informed their work include:
- Geese Theatre
- Rideout (Creative Arts for Rehabilitation)
- Talking Birds.
