Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS) Projects

A number of undergraduate students undertake research projects funded by the Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS). Undergraduate students interested in pursuing such projects in areas related to global history and culture are invited to contact any of the members of the Global History and Culture Centre, and we would be happy to support such applications. The following URSS projects have been completed in recent years in areas related to global history and culture:

  • 2020/21 Fu Ge YANG, 'What do professional responses to medical crisis, such as SARS, reveal about the interaction and tension between the traditional Chinese and Western medical model in China?' An Oral History study of the dualist medical system in Modern China, supervised by Prof Anne Gerritsen and Prof Roberta Bivins (CHM)
  • 2020/21 Declan Dadzie, 'Decolonising Travel: The Methodological Importance of Queer Travel Writing', supervised by Dr Guido van Meersbergen and Dr Natalya Din-Kariuki
