LIMA was developed and maintained by Dr Gabriel Heaton.
He was educated at the Universities of Durham and Cambridge. Hecompleted his PhD at Cambridge in 2003; his thesis was on the manuscripts of royal entertainments in the Elizabethan and Jacobean period.
From October 2003-2005 he was a research fellow on the John Nichols Project at the AHRB Centre for the Study of Renaissance Elites and Court Cultures at the University of Warwick. In this capacity he was responsible for editing more than fifteen Elizabethan entertainments.
Dr Heaton joined Sotheby's in 2005. His book, Writing and Reading Royal Entertainments: from George Gascoigne to Ben Jonson, was published by Oxford University Press in 2010.
