Warwick Renaissance Society
Welcome to the Warwick Renaissance Society!
The Warwick Renaissance Society aims to make Renaissance Studies a more accessible and inclusive space. We do this by organizing visits to heritage sites, some of which may be difficult to reach for students or not usually open to the public, as well as other activities designed to introduce, engage, and learn more about the medieval and early modern periods.
The Warwick Renaissance Society is open to anyone interested in or curious about the early modern period – be it literature, art, philosophy, dress, architecture, history, material culture or something else altogether. No prior knowledge is required. All are welcome.
We are always open to suggestions and would love to hear from you: register your interest, sign up for site visits, and let us know your suggestions, questions, and ideas by filling out this formLink opens in a new window.

Our next outing will be to the very lovely Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, on Thursday 14th May 2026.
This will be a full day trip, as the venue is approx. 1.5hrs away from campus. This hall is the ancestral home to Elizabeth, Countess of Shrewsbury (1527–1608), fondly known as Bess of Hardwick.
