Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire
Warwick Renaissance Society Field Trip, Thursday 14th May 2026
Step into the world of Elizabethan ambition with our upcoming field trip to Hardwick on 14 May. Rising above the Derbyshire landscape, Hardwick is one of the finest surviving expressions of late‑sixteenth‑century power, wealth, and architectural innovation. Built by the formidable Bess of Hardwick, the Hall and its surrounding parkland offer a rare chance to explore a place designed to impress — from its vast windows to its carefully curated interiors and serene gardens.
Throughout the day, we hope to uncover the stories behind the estate, trace the legacy of its remarkable creator, and experience the atmosphere of a site that still carries the drama and confidence of its age. Whether you’re drawn to history, architecture, literature, or simply the pleasure of exploring a remarkable place, this trip promises a memorable and inspiring visit.
