Prizes, Awards, Small Grants etc

The following organisations offer specific postgraduate prizes/scholarships, which may include Early Modern / Renaissance-related topics. Do check carefully what criteria (e.g. current membership of the organisation) and deadlines apply. And remember, Warwick's own Competition for the best graduate Poster relating to research in the Humanities, a prize scheme for PG students, is also worth looking into.

General funding & Research Related Grants

Postgraduate students are mostly expected to cover the costs of books, photocopying and other research-related costs from their own funding. Occasionally, there are small awards or grants one can apply for.

  • The Bibliographical Society offers minor grants for microfilms etc. for which no other funding can be obtained
  • The Malone Society offers Fellowships (up to £1,000) and Bursaries (£50-£200) for research costs relating to the editing or documentary study of English Drama before 1642. Read the stated aims of the Society and the scope of the grants very carefully.
