Wellcome Early-Career Awards
The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance (CSR) at the University of Warwick is pleased to invite expressions of interest from highly qualified researchers in the field who seek to apply for a Wellcome Early-Career Award, tenable in the Centre. The CSR is a buoyant hub of interdisciplinary research, with a well-established international reputation. Specialisms range from the Middle Ages to the seventeenth century, in particular covering Italy, France, Spain, England, the Holy Roman Empire, and their territories. Particular strengths of CSR members include theatre and literature, intellectual history, social and cultural history, history of the book, history of religion, history of science and medicine, history of art, history of universities, epistolary networks, history of translation, the relationships between Neo-Latin and the vernaculars, and the classical tradition.

By (and preferably before) Friday 12th April, interested applicants are invited to complete the Expression of Interest form, and attach the following documents where indicated:
- a short description of their proposed project (maximum 2 A4 pages)
- a copy of their CV (maximum 2 A4 pages), with indication of numbers of words for items in press
The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance will aim to shortlist its candidates by 19th April so that candidates will have a month to finalise their proposals for the Wellcome deadline of 21st May 2024.
Successful candidates typically have an articulated publications profile, including a monograph either in press or at an advanced stage.
