Catalogue of Scaliger correspondence made available

03 March 2015 *** NEWS ***

The complete searchable catalogue of the Correspondence of Joseph Justus Scaliger (1540-1609) has now been made available through Early Modern Letters Online. "Scaliger’s surviving correspondence amounts to 1,669 letters, written between 1561 and 1609. About two-thirds of the letters are in Latin, many with substantial Greek and Hebrew components, and almost all of the remainder is written in French." The catalogue is based on the database created by Paul Botley and Dirk van Miert for their 8-volume edition of all known letters to and from Scaliger.
