'Amateur Acts: Why Amateur Theatre Matters'

The 'Amateur Acts' conference takes place 8-10 September 2025 at the University of Warwick's premises in the Palazzo Giustinian Lolin in Venice. This event is hosted by the European Research Council (ERC) funded project 'Performing Citizenship: Social and Political Agency in Non-Professional Theatre Practice in Germany, France, Britain, Sweden and Switzerland (1780-1850)'. On the form on the right side of this page you can register for the conference and opt in to the conference dinner. The two set menu options for the dinner are below:

Menu Option 1: Seafood

Non-alcoholic welcome drink

Starter: Creamed cod, sardines in "saor" with tender polenta
Spaghetti with clams and julienne zucchini

Main: Baked sea bass fillet with vegetable garnish

Dessert: Lemon sorbet with homemade biscuits

Both menus also include one bottle of wine for every 3 guests, as well as mineral water and coffee

Menu Option 2: Vegetarian

Non-alcoholic welcome drink

Starter: Heart of artichoke buffalo mozzarella and black summer truffle
"spring" risotto with vegetables from our estuary

Main: Aubergine parmigiana

Dessert: Lemon sorbet with homemade biscuits

Both menus also include one bottle of wine for every 3 guests, as well as mineral water and coffee
