APP EXP is Warwick's scheme leading to fellowship of the HEA. It is accredited by Advance HE and has run successfully for six years. An APP EXP mentor works with participants on APP EXP, offering support as they prepare their applications. The success of the APP EXP pathway is dependent crucially on this pool of mentors who work with individual applicants. The role is important and requires high levels of knowledge and understanding of both the PSF and the APP EXP pathway itself. All APP EXP mentors will themselves have either FHEA, SHEA or PFHEA. In order to become an APP EXP mentor it is necessary to undertake induction activities and be an active member of the APP EXP mentor and assessor network.
Prior to becoming a full member of the APP EXP mentor and assessor network it will be necessary to attend two induction sessions.
Workshop 1: Introduction to APP EXP Mentoring (2 hours)
This workshop is intended to provide the background necessary to start as a mentor to colleagues applying for HEA Fellowship (D1, D2 and D3) through the APP EXP Pathway. The session will include:
