Matthew Collins
From September 2009 to June 2010, Matthew is the RSC Researcher-in-Residence at the CAPITAL Centre, developing a series of ‘Exploring Arthur’ events around the RSC’s production of Thomas Malory’s Morte D’Arthur, which will look at the different interpretations of Arthurian legend in performance, creative writing and art.
Matthew studied English Literature and Language at Oxford University where he has also worked with the University’s Department for Continuing Education on their Summer School programmes. He has a continuing interest in Middle English and Medieval texts as well as theatre having written original pieces for youth theatre groups, the NHS and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He is currently the Strategy and Planning Officer at the RSC, working within the company’s Development Department since 2005.
A group of students, led by Matthew and Podtgraduate stduent Annouchka Bayley, are devising a piece for performance at the RSC’s outdoor theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Dell, on Sunday 27 June.
