I disagree with you, AI: The Role of Explainability in Empowering Users to Challenge AI Decisions on Creditworthiness

This talk will report on our ongoing research in explainable AI and how we can go beyond the notion of explanation within AI applications. We will discuss some of the work we have been doing with Financial Conduct Authority and also report from a series of workshops that explores the role HCI methods (such as online experiments) to inform AI policy and regulation. We hope to interrogate the methods and explore limits and opportunities for empowering people who are impacted by AI.

Target audience (academic staff, students, PSS, open to public…?): We will need to keep this internal for now since we are waiting on FCA's approval. This might be in place by January so we might then be more flexible on who we can have in the room. A bit later slot might work better in that case.
