Nicolai Peremezhney

BACKGROUND

I was born and grew up in the Ukraine. After leaving secondary school, I attended a Teacher Training College and qualified as a secondary school maths teacher in 1993. I spent the following year studying Hebrew and working as a volunteer in Israel. I have been living in the UK since 1994 (except the year 1998/1999 that I spent teaching English in Prague). Between 2001 and 2006 I worked as a maths teacher in secondary schools around West Midlands. in 2006 I went to Aston University in Birmingham to study for a 'Mathematics with Computing' degree. It was during my final year of study that I first heard about complexity science and Warwick DTC .

Interests

  • I am interested in studying complex systems/emergent behaviour within engineering context. My second miniproject was concerned with exploration of the link between a composition of a formulated product (such as face cream ect.) and its [product] emergent properties.
  • I enjoy playing ball games, in particular, football and volleyball.
  • I am also a big fan of Latin music/dance.
