How to find a co-founder

‘What is a co-founder and why work with one?’

Finding a co-founder can be really difficult sometimes...here are 3 steps to follow that can help you find your start-up partner.

What you’ll need:

  • 30-60 minutes.
  • Pens, notebook, laptop, or your preferred notetaking method.

Steps:

Personal Network

The first place you should consider looking at is your personal network. Do you know any friends who would be great co-founders? Have you got any family members you could join forces with?

Student Societies

If you don't know anyone who could be a great co-founder within your personal network, the next step is to look elsewhere. Student societies are a great place where to start: here you can find other students sharing your same interests and get to meet new people from different departments who can bring complementary skills to yours.

Online Communities

If after following Step1 and Step2 you're still without a co-founder, you may want to start reaching out to people online. You can do this using LinkedIn for instance; otherwise, you could consider joining online communities such as entrepreneurial sub/Reddit groups where you're likely to connect with like-minded people that are hopefully happy join your venture!
