Exchanges is a peer-reviewed open access journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research by scholars in any field. Launched in October 2013 as Exchanges: The Warwick Research Journal, the title particularly attracts and provides a venue for innovative research articles from emerging domain experts and early career researchers. From mid-2018 the title embraced a new core brand as Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal, to reflect the increasing international nature of its Editorial Board and author community.
Exchanges fully embraces the tenants of diamond open access (Fuchs & Sandoval, 2013), meaning articles are freely available without any reader subscription or access costs, nor are there are any article processing charges (APC) publication fees levied on authors. It utilises a double-blind, editor-mediated and journal managed peer-review model for quality assurance.
The Managing Editor-in-Chief, Dr Gareth J Johnson, oversees all aspects of the journal, and is supported in his efforts by Exchange’s Editorial Board. Platform support is provided from Yvonne Budden (Head of Scholarly Communications, Library) and team, drawing on the Library’s expertise within open access and journal publishing platforms.
