Our Student as Producer grants provide an opportunity for students to lead a performance, research or collaboration project, with up to £2,000 available per project. Our Performance Festival Bursaries, of up to £500 each, support student performance projects taking place outside the University, such as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The new MSc in Humanitarian Engineering is an interdisciplinary programme which offers students the opportunity to invent, create, design, develop or improve technologies which promote the well-being of poor, marginalised, and/or under-served communities. The programme will open for applications in the autumn, for a 2018/19 start. See also: Symposium on Humanitarian Engineering, 3-4 July 2017.

'Sport, Philosophy and Practice' is a project which has explored the gaps and overlaps between philosophy and sport, asked how and where the curricular and extra-curricular intertwine, striven to adapt academic assessment to take into account embodied learning and expression, and reflected on best practice in the creation and development of interdisciplinary and physically active modules.

Congratulations to Phil Gaydon, who has been nominated for a Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence (WATE) PGR. The winners and commendees are to be announced at the 2017 Warwick Learning and Teaching Showcase on Monday 3 July.

This issue of our newsletter focusses on interdisciplinarity and is now available to view online. It features an item on interdisciplinarity itself, student perspectives on our interdisciplinary modules, an item on wellbeing and study at Warwick, information on our new modules, and the item ‘Students as Leaders: A Campus of Ideas’.

Creation 2.0 is a play about a laboratory, in which the impossible is made possible, and genetics is pushed further than had been possible. But what does that mean, and who will it jeopardise? This rehearsed reading, funded by IATL as a Student as Producer (Performance) project, is open to all.

This article, co-authored by IATL's Deputy Director, Jonathan Heron, and Nicholas Johnson from the School of Creative Arts (Drama), Trinity College Dublin, has been published in Research in Drama Education: The Journal of Applied Theatre and Performance.

This experimental IATL Student as Producer (Performance) project combines exhibition and performance in an attempt to revisit 300 years of British art and see what it was all about. It is free, open to all, and includes a drop-in installation 12:00-19:30 and a performance from 19:30, both streamed live online.
