Call for abstracts – ICUR 2017

The fifth annual International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) will be held on Tuesday 26 & Wednesday 27 September 2017 and is open to undergraduate researchers from any discipline. Submit your abstract of 250 words for the chance to present to an audience around the world via state of the art video-conferencing technology. Deadline: 20 May 2017 (early submissions encouraged).

Should we ban television advertising aimed at children?

Undergraduates and postgraduates are invited to take part in a unique, IATL-funded public policy event modelled on a Citizens' Jury. Deliberate about and vote on public policy concerning advertising to children on television, all in the presence of expert witnesses from academia and industry.

IATL staff visit to Singapore

Two members of IATL staff, Caroline Gibson and Amy Clarke, travelled to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore in January for discussions with International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) colleagues from NTU and Monash University. The visit was a great success and further cemented the relationships between the three institutions. Follow the link for more about ICUR.

IATL funding for staff

On 14 December 2016 IATL hosted the showcase event 'Re-shaping the Learning Environment: IATL Funding for Staff', providing a platform for our funding recipients to share ideas and techniques from their exciting work with the wider Warwick community. Artworks in The Oculus

The works from the University of Warwick Art Collection chosen for installation in The Oculus are intended to enhance its multi-disciplinary environment and act as informal provocations for ideas. Staff and students, including IATL’s Director, Dr Nicholas Monk, were invited to contribute labels to accompany the works of art to open up their areas of enquiry to the users of the building.
