International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) 2019
The seventh annual International Conference of Undergraduate Research took place at Warwick on 24th and 25th September in the Oculus building, linked to simultaneous events at nine institutions across five continents. This busy two-day event saw over 350 presentations from undergraduate researchers, many of who were presenting at their first conference. The quality of presentations was outstanding with presentations video-linked from and between Monash University campuses in Malaysia and Australia, IIE MSA in South Africa, the City University of New York hosted by Baruch College, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, the University of British Columbia in Canada, Leeds University in the UK, as well as from Warwick’s new EUTOPIA partners, VUB in Belgium and UPF-Barcelona in Spain. Over 500 students and staff attended the event across the international locations, as presenters, volunteers, audience members and guests. ICUR also featured a keynote session by Dr Susan Carland from Monash University, who gave an inspirational talk about the value of research and how undertaking research can take you to places you never thought possible.
